Operations

APX-ENDEX has three operations departments, two located in Amsterdam and one in Nottingham. The three departments operate the Continental and British energy markets and service third parties. The operations department in Nottingham operates on a 24, 7 basis, with market operators working shift patterns, including nights. The operations teams responsible for the spot markets work 365 days per year, including weekends and public holidays. A market operator is responsible for the daily monitoring of the different trading platforms, executing physical and financial settlement of traded contracts, responding to customer queries and preparing daily reports and market statistics. A team of senior professionals is responsible for the link between daily operations and the commercial team. The team offers support with (member) training, testing, the launch of new products, market data analysis and reporting.

ICT

APX-ENDEX provides a number of electronic trading platforms for energy trading. The trading software is bespoke and tuned to our markets. The ICT department manages the outsourced development of this software and is responsible for its implementation and maintenance. The software is located in two data centres in two different countries, one in the UK and one in the Netherlands. The team guards the secure connection between our customers and the data centres. The ICT department is also responsible for the international office network over the four APX-ENDEX offices and links to the data centres, providing data, voice and video services for all its employees. APX-ENDEX ICT staff are based in the Amsterdam and Nottingham offices.
